Bradley Kelton worked with Bill Holt and Troy Rasbury using the thermomechanical modeling code UnderWord Geodynamics (UWG) to examine the impact of wide plateaus on the formation of core complexes. He worked in the FIRST lab using laser abltion U-Pb dating of fluorite deposits from Nye County, Nevada. He related his models to our hypothesis that significant fluorite deposits in the western US result from flourine bearing fluids that may track times of rapid trenstensional strain. Bradley is a Regneron semi-finalist and he just presented his work today at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair. Nice work Bradley!
